Gas heaters

Propane and natural gas heaters burn fuel and can produce carbon monoxide (CO), a gas you cannot see or smell.

• Use indoors only if the heater is specifically rated for indoor use, and follow its ventilation requirements
• Install a working carbon monoxide alarm in any room where a fuel-burning heater is used
• Keep at least 3 feet of clearance from furniture, curtains, bedding and anything that can burn
• Never leave a heater running while you sleep or when no one is in the room, unless the manual allows it
• Never use outdoor patio heaters indoors, in tents or in enclosed spaces
• Check connections for leaks with soapy water, never with a flame
• Some vent-free heaters are not permitted in certain states or cities. Check your local codes before installing

Air compressors

Compressed air is stored under high pressure and can cause serious injury if misused.

• Wear safety glasses, and hearing protection when operating louder units
• Never exceed the maximum pressure rating of the compressor, hoses, fittings or tools
• Drain moisture from the tank regularly as directed to prevent corrosion
• Release all pressure before servicing, moving or disconnecting hoses
• Never point compressed air at yourself or anyone else
• Use the correct circuit, plug and extension cord rating for electric models, and run gas engines outdoors only

Lawn mowers & power tools

Blades and moving parts can cause severe injuries.

• Read the manual and learn all controls before first use
• Wear eye protection, closed-toe shoes and long pants
• Keep children and pets well away from the work area
• Clear stones, sticks and debris before mowing
• Turn off the engine and remove the key, spark plug wire or battery before clearing jams or servicing
• Refuel only when the engine is off and cool, outdoors and away from flames
• Never ride with passengers on a riding mower, and take extra care on slopes

Grills & outdoor cooking

Grills get extremely hot and use flammable fuel.

• Use grills outdoors only, never in a garage, tent or enclosed area
• Place the grill on a stable, level surface away from buildings, railings and overhanging branches
• Keep children and pets away while in use and while cooling down
• Check propane hoses and connections for leaks before each season
• Store propane cylinders upright and outdoors, never indoors
• Keep a fire extinguisher nearby

Air purifiers, dehumidifiers & electrical items

Electrical appliances should be used as directed to avoid shock and fire risks.

• Plug directly into a properly grounded outlet. Avoid overloading circuits or using damaged cords
• Keep units away from water sources unless designed for wet areas
• Empty dehumidifier water tanks regularly and keep them clean
• Replace filters as recommended by the manufacturer
• Unplug before cleaning, moving or changing filters

Live plants & garden products

Some plants can be harmful if eaten by people or pets, and some garden products contain chemicals.

• Keep plants out of reach of children and pets if you are unsure whether they are safe. The ASPCA publishes a list of plants that are toxic to pets
• Wear gloves when handling plants with thorns, spines or sap
• Store fertilizers and garden chemicals in their original containers, out of reach of children
• Wash your hands after gardening

If we learn that a product we sold is subject to a safety recall, we will contact affected customers by email with instructions. You can also check for recalls at cpsc.gov/Recalls or on the manufacturer’s website.

Report a safety concern

If you believe a product you bought from us is unsafe or has caused an injury, stop using it and email support@airdesigncard.com or call +1 (325) 202-2191 with your order number, a description and photos. In an emergency, call 911 first.
